He has been teaching in-person voice lessons while wearing a mask properly and taking no other risks. Wishing him a speedy recovery.... <3
Please be extra-cautious out there! While masks help reduce the spread of the coronavirus, fine mist aerosols can still both escape and penetrate them. Loud singing, particularly, is a high aerosol -generating activity which can extend to 15+ feet without a mask. Data suggests that a person can be most contagious 48 hours before the onset of their symptoms and continue to be contagious for 10-20 days after onset depending on the severity of their symptoms. The after-effects of this virus on the lungs and vocal fold nerves can especially impact athletes and singers. Protect each other. Congratulations to Luke Randazzo who has won a cash award and 3rd place nationally in the Classical Singer High School Competition. Overall there were 600 entries in five categories in this year’s CS Music competition. This past year, Luke was also a finalist in the Overture Awards locally and the Schmidt Competition in Boston. Luke is a Junior at School For The Creative And Performing Arts and has been taking online lessons with Kathy Cammett for 2.5 years. Luke aspires to become an opera singer.
