Studio Expectations
  • This is YOUR journey -- no point making comparisons with anyone else. You have your own individual capacity and special qualities. Search for these within yourself and enjoy them. You begin always from where you are.
  • Observe and try to understand the nature of the singing voice and the logical process of freeing it.  This approach will help you avoid the major pitfall of looking only towards a particular perfect end result. Learning to sing is in part an act of faith, but you must differentiate clearly between your teacher's role and your own and assume responsibility accordingly.
  • Learning to sing is a discipline. To progress, you will need to work hard, regularly, and methodically like a dedicated athlete or dancer. Consider what is required and commit to it; otherwise, the whole venture can be a waste of resources.
  • Getting fit for this demanding work is your responsibility.  As teachers, we can only guide you to the point where your body and mind are able and prepared, but not beyond. Sleep well, eat healthily, exercise your body, and drink plenty of water.

PAYMENTS

Payment for vocal assessments, private lessons, courses, workshops and other events is due in advance.   Payments are made via PayPal.

CANCELLATIONS

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you.  Once you have booked your session, you are responsible for showing up at the correct place and time.  You must cancel your lesson on the scheduling calendar at least one day (24 hours) in advance before the scheduled lesson or assessment in order to avoid the fee for the missed session.  Just like buying a ticket to a concert, you will still be charged and will not get a refund if you do not show up or if you have to cancel on the same day - even for illness or a scheduling error.

Withdrawals from package lessons, classes, or workshops needing advance registration require a 30-day notice. No refunds will be given for any single session missed after the first day of the event.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

If there is inclement weather and you feel you cannot safely attend your lesson or your school is cancelled, we can keep your regular lesson time via Zoom and not miss a beat.
