At Golden Voice Studio, our goal is to provide the best all-around training for performers, beginner to professional. Our diverse backgrounds include a rare combination of experience, professional expertise, and teaching excellence which benefits our students, many of whom have won scholarships, competition prizes and awards. We hold degrees from some of the most prestigious and well-respected conservatories in the world and remain closely connected with the professional music scene nationally and internationally.
Clients receive one-to-one voice and acting instruction geared to individual interests and goals. We focus on healthy technique, musical style, and performance skills. General Information Location: Since 2004, our professional clients and most successful students have worked online and won thousands of dollars in competitions and scholarships with this approach. Here at Golden Voice Studio, we were online years before the pandemic and the results speak for themselves. By far the student achievements and pictures on the website are a result of online lessons. Our clients have been from all over the USA -- from Cincinnati and the Midwest to New York and Philadelphia, down to Florida, and over to San Francisco and Los Angeles. Internationally, clients have come from Canada, Asia, Europe, and Australia. When done right, online lessons are a superior way to deliver quality training. More about online lessons here... Rates: Voice lessons are bought either in pay-per-visit or in 6- or 12-pack credits. We recommend making the 12-pack commitment as it is not only the least expensive per lesson, but also it takes about that amount of time to see solid improvements. Generally, 30-minute lessons not only are optimal for science-backed attention spans and the concentrated work we do, but also agree with motor-learning best practices. Additionally, we recommend doing more than one voice lesson per week initially because body coordination benefits from teacher supervision of correct movement and then repeated correct movement on your own. The challenge after a lesson is making sure the movements are correct in your own practicing which initially may be hard to realize when things have gone off-track. We do not recommend every-other-week lessons for most situations. Private acting lessons are bought in either pay-per-visit or in 3- or 6-pack credits. If you need a brush-up or have one monologue to prepare for an audition, a single or 3-pack would be optimal, but if you need more or perhaps wish to work on something now and then something different down the road, a 6-pack would be the most useful and least expensive. Acting lessons are 60-minutes. Policies: There are no contracts or administrative fees. Click here for the cancellation policy. By registering for lessons, you are agreeing to this policy. The Assessment Free Consultation + Assessment with Kathy: In this session (15-30 minutes), we will talk about your goals, your history, and then sing some very easy voice exercises (even if you are an actor!) and a song/monologue you have prepared. Select anything that you think you sound good doing - the genre does not matter. These things help diagnose your voice. At the end of the session, she will know what might be the best fit for you and will be specific about what to do moving forward. More Questions? Check out the FAQ's and Studio Expectations...
