Kathy Cammett is a voice teacher and vocal coach. She has overseen, coached, managed and produced and directed hundreds of voices, roles, auditions, bands and shows. Her students have appeared in professional productions, performed on a national level, been accepted into competitive arts programs and colleges and gained professional management.
As a voice teacher, she is known for her technical skills. As such, her specialty lies in identifying and correcting vocal flaws, thus creating agility, freedom and ease of production. Likewise, she is experienced in working with voices recovering from injury and illness and on the path back to health and function. By applying both traditional and holistic methods plus those based on modern voice science, her approach takes the mystery out of singing and shows singers at any level exactly how to achieve their best in any vocal style. Here is a great article that explains why science-based teaching is best: www.nyst.org/files/Articles/Mystery_School_of_Singing.pdf
From the perspective of a vocal coach, she finds the right repertoire for a voice plus shapes and polishes pieces until they are performance-ready. Her students span the range of musical theatre and rock to opera.
A member of NATS, The Voice Foundation, MTNA, DSMTA, DMEA, ACDA, and NAfME, Kathy gives private lessons, group lessons and workshops.
Skype, Google Chat, Oovoo and Facetime sessions available.
