What our students have to say about us...

"I have worked with Kathy C both as a teacher and as a collaborator. As a teacher, Kathy whipped my voice into shape in no time, but most importantly she instilled in me the confidence that I needed to succeed in the musical theater world. I only wish I had more time to continue with her. As a collaborator on the award-winning "Alice in Wonderland" at City Theater Company, Kathy offered her talent and expertise to the show through one of her budding artists, Rachel. She coached Rachel and guided her to create the soundtrack for our very unique, stylized version of "Alice." I can truly see Kathy's sense of committment to a show and creativity coming out through her students, such as Rachel. Kathy is my go-to-woman when it comes to talented young musical and theatre artists in my area, as she is definately a driving force among that group. I recently sent one of my acting students to her as well to work on her stage voice, not just to develop a singing voice, and Kathy as always has rissen to the challenge! She also brings a spark to the workings of City Theater Company, Wilmington's edgiest theatre and most innovative theatre, as a board member and as a strong supporter of the youth theater there. I applaud her for continuing to prepare young artists to take over the guard on our stages, but also to push them to aspire to go as far as they can dream, but also to have the talent to actually get there!"

"I took lessons from Kathy while I was in high school. She was the first teacher who made me excited to sing and enjoy learning about technique. She taught me the importance of vocal health, vocal exercises/warming up, and benefits of classical singing (breath support, body alignment, etc.).

I have since moved on to be a songwriting/vocal performance major at Berkeley College of Music in Boston where I am very grateful to have my background and knowledge I received from Kathy. I am also a singer at Hershey park in Pennsylvania where I have done up to 9 shows a day. I am glad I know the importance of taking care of my voice because I have been able to keep it strong through very strenuous singing. Kathy is a wonderful teacher and knows SO much about the voice! I cannot tell you how glad I am to have had her as my first serious voice teacher."

"Kathy is the best thing that ever happened to me...I started singing when I came to Cab Calloway in Sixth grade. Then my vocal teacher told me I should go and get voice lessons, that it would do me some good. Of course I didn't really anything of it-sure voice lessons. Me? I am a dancer not a singer...
That's what was going through my mind until I actually started taking lessons. I had no idea that I could sing that well if not sing at all! Now I am able to sing in so many different ranges and I'm getting a lot of jobs because of it. I owe my life to Kathy and I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for her. Thank you so much Kathy!"

"As a student of classical singing who has studied with Kathy Cammett for nearly 10 years, I can say from long, firsthand experience that she is a consummate teacher of vocal technique, style and artistry. She is demonstrably expert in all of the physiological aspects of voice production, has a commanding ability of the international language skills and style requirements needed to sing
classical repertoire, and has the musicality, insight and sensitivities of a true artist. She brings these skills and qualities not only to singers of classical repertoire, but also to students of musical theatre, jazz, pop and
rock singing -- and has an extensive knowledge of the music of each genre.

Did I mention that she is a fantastic teacher (as well as being a great singer in her own right)? Her friendly, funny and insightful personality gives her the gift of working with her students as individuals, bring out their strengths and addressing developmental areas in a challenging yet encouraging way. For people who love music and singing, and who want to develop their technical skills and their own expressive styles, I can promise that Kathy will help you achieve results in a way that will expand and develop your love of music."

"Kathy's unique methods have helped me to develop my singing and artistry in so many ways. Although usually the thought of someone evaluating your every note can be nerve-wracking, Kathy made me feel comfortable and created an environment where mistakes were okay and provided an avenue to improve. It was only a matter of weeks before people in my church started asking me if I had been taking voice lessons and even commenting on how my voice sounded stronger and clearer. She has taught me to know my own voice by teaching me how to feel the different muscles that are instrumental in singing and not just focusing on the sound. She was even able to teach me how to feel my larynx (a seemingly impossible concept for me to grasp)! I no longer get on stage worrying if my voice will make it through the song but I feel confident and empowered in my singing. Most importantly, I have come to understand that the voice is an instrument, and like all instruments, it requires instruction, technique, artistry, and practice."
